Our Story

Chris and I met in 2015. I was an Army Nurse who had just moved to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX. Chris was an Air Force Reserves Attorney who was home in El Paso. We showed up to our first date driving the exact same truck, just one was white, and the other black. We had a good laugh and discovered we aligned on so much more than the same taste in trucks. We both had a prior marriage, and talked about growing and forgiving our past mistakes and others. God has a redemption story for us all. This year we will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We have two kids, and delight in parenting them. We wanted more children, but have not been able to do that biologically, so we are excited to add to our family through adoption.

Nuestra Historia
Chris y yo nos conocimos en 2015. Yo era enfermera del Ejército y acababa de mudarme a Fort Bliss en El Paso, Texas. Chris era abogado de la Reserva de la Fuerza Aérea y estaba en casa en El Paso. Llegamos a nuestra primera cita conduciendo exactamente la misma camioneta, solo que una era blanca y la otra negra. Nos reímos mucho de esa coincidencia y descubrimos que compartíamos mucho más que el mismo gusto por las camionetas.
Ambos habíamos tenido un matrimonio anterior y hablamos sobre crecer como personas y aprender a perdonar nuestros propios errores y los de los demás. Dios tiene una historia de redención para todos nosotros. Este año celebraremos nuestro décimo aniversario de bodas.
Tenemos dos hijos y disfrutamos enormemente ser sus padres. Deseábamos tener más hijos, pero no nos ha sido posible biológicamente, por lo que estamos muy emocionados de ampliar nuestra familia a través de la adopción.
Hobbies and Interests

We love to be an active family. We live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and there is so much nature to enjoy. We like to hike, bike, play in the parks, go out to the coast, and enjoy sports.
Chris enjoys coaching and has been a high school football coach, a little league assistant football coach and a little league soccer coach. Both our kids are always playing some recreational sport.
We love to watch all the professional team sports around Seattle - the Mariners, the Seahawks, the Kraken, and the Sounders.
We love to travel and every year we spend time in Hawaii, Arizona, Texas and Oregon.
We love reading and learning.
We love to be involved with our community and to share life with a lot of family and friends in our area.

Pasatiempos e Intereses
Nos encanta ser una familia activa. Vivimos en el hermoso noroeste del Pacífico y hay mucha naturaleza para disfrutar. Nos gusta hacer senderismo, andar en bicicleta, jugar en los parques, visitar la costa y disfrutar de los deportes.
Chris disfruta entrenar equipos deportivos y ha sido entrenador de fútbol americano de secundaria, asistente de fútbol americano infantil y entrenador de fútbol infantil. Nuestros hijos siempre están participando en algún deporte recreativo.
Nos encanta seguir a los equipos deportivos profesionales de Seattle: los Mariners, Seahawks, Kraken y Sounders.

Devin is positive, upbeat, motivated and caring. She is an encourager through her steady, upbeat presence and patience beyond measure. She is always excited to learn and grow, which makes for a positive family environment, and she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. Her intelligence and persistence are one of her best combinations, tackling problems head-on. Devin is firmly rooted in faith and shows her love by spending time with others. She prioritizes our family and herself for constant growth. She is all in with our children and will be for another child as well. She steers them to better situations and asks them to learn and grow for their benefit. She brings an excitement to the children's lives that make her their best friend and confidant.

Chris's humor was the first thing that attracted me. He has a quick wit and a real gift to turn tense situations into more lighthearted moments, and he brings grace into all situations. He is incredibly relational and constantly encouraging everyone he meets. I see Chris walk out his gifting every day. As an attorney, he is great at knowing the law, but I noticed he was just as great being a counselor to his clients who were going through very difficult times. He would encourage them to make changes in their lives and to pave a road to a much better future. He is their biggest cheerleader to get back up again and live the best life they can. He does the same thing for our family, as if he had been practicing to be a husband and father his whole life.

Lo primero que me atrajo de Chris fue su sentido del humor. Tiene una gran agilidad mental y el don de convertir situaciones tensas en momentos más ligeros, aportando gracia y tranquilidad a cualquier circunstancia.
Es una persona muy cercana y siempre está animando a quienes lo rodean. Veo cómo utiliza sus talentos cada día. Como abogado, es excelente en su profesión, pero también he visto cómo acompaña y orienta a sus clientes durante momentos muy difíciles.
Los anima a hacer cambios en sus vidas y a construir un mejor futuro. Es su mayor apoyo para que se levanten nuevamente y vivan la mejor vida posible. Hace lo mismo con nuestra familia, como si hubiera estado preparándose toda su vida para ser esposo y padre.
Our Children

Meet Juliet, our 5 year-old daughter. Juliet is a sweet, funny and loyal personality. She is also tough. We mainly have boys in our neighborhood, so she is often the only girl playing soccer, tag or water balloons in the yard with the boys. Juliet is also very creative and original in her style. She creates outfits I would never have thought of!
Meet Jude, our very active 8 year-old son. Jude loves sports and playing with his friends. He's got some natural leadership talents. I could stop at a new park and in less than 10 minutes, Jude will have the kids playing some organized game of tag together. He is great at pulling in other kids to play with him. He also remembers the names of kids, teachers and parents he has briefly met years ago.

Nuestros Hijos
Conoce a Juliet, nuestra hija de 5 años. Juliet es dulce, divertida y leal. También es muy fuerte y valiente. En nuestro vecindario hay principalmente niños, por lo que a menudo es la única niña jugando fútbol, correteando o participando en juegos con globos de agua.
Juliet también es muy creativa y original en su estilo. ¡Crea combinaciones de ropa que jamás se me habrían ocurrido!
Conoce a Jude, nuestro muy activo hijo de 8 años. A Jude le encantan los deportes y jugar con sus amigos. Tiene un talento natural para el liderazgo. Si llegamos a un parque nuevo, en menos de diez minutos ya habrá organizado algún juego grupal para todos los niños presentes.
Es excelente incluyendo a otros niños en sus actividades y tiene una memoria increíble para recordar nombres de niños, maestros y padres que conoció incluso años atrás.
Our Home

We live in a suburb about 35 minutes outside of Seattle, Washington. Our town has more of a small-town feel. We are 5 minutes away from everything we need like; parks, river bike paths, grocery stores, our church, the kids schools, our office, the library and a handful of delicious restaurants and food trucks. We love the community of people who live close by to us and the endless outdoor adventures that can be had in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Nuestro Hogar
Vivimos en un suburbio ubicado a unos 35 minutos de Seattle, Washington. Nuestra ciudad tiene un ambiente acogedor y tranquilo, similar al de un pueblo pequeño.
Estamos a solo cinco minutos de todo lo que necesitamos: parques, senderos para bicicletas junto al río, supermercados, nuestra iglesia, las escuelas de los niños, nuestra oficina, la biblioteca y varios restaurantes y camiones de comida deliciosos.
Nos encanta la comunidad que nos rodea y las infinitas aventuras al aire libre que ofrece el hermoso noroeste del Pacífico.
Our Traditions + Faith

We have a saying in our family that we live by the five F's:
Faith: We are a Christian family that are active members of our local non-denominational church. Chris is a Deacon in our church and Devin volunteers in the Kid's Ministry.
Family: We love hanging out and going on adventures as a family. Friday nights are family movie nights in our home.
Fitness: We do our best to live an active and healthy lifestyle.
Finances: We aim to be good stewards of our finances and generous in our community. This year our family business was able to give 6 full-ride scholarships to a local Christian school.
Fun: We love to laugh and have fun together. We want everyone in our family to live life with a joyful heart.
