Hi! We are Mike and Lacey and we live in Central Florida! Let us start by saying that we are incredibly grateful that you are taking the time to learn about us. Hopefully we’ll also have the chance to learn about you as well. We have been married for 10 years and excited to grow our family. Adoption has always been on our hearts. We have a lot of love to give and have always wanted to be parents more than anything else. Family is incredibly important to us since we grew up surrounded by family. We hope that this gives you a glimpse of our lives as you're making this decision that will have a huge impact on you and your child.

¡Hola! Somos Mike y Lacey y vivimos en Florida Central. Queremos empezar diciéndote que estamos increíblemente agradecidos de que te tomes el tiempo de conocernos. Ojalá también tengamos la oportunidad de conocerte a ti. Llevamos 10 años de casados y estamos muy emocionados de hacer crecer nuestra familia. La adopción siempre ha estado en nuestros corazones. Tenemos mucho amor para dar y siempre hemos deseado ser padres más que cualquier otra cosa. La familia es muy importante para nosotros, ya que crecimos rodeados de ella. Our Story

We met online through a school forum while we were both in college. What started as assisting each other with classes turned into a long-term friendship. That friendship eventually turned into a loving relationship. The two of us have always been on the same page since the beginning, well at least for major life decisions. When the question is “What should we do for dinner?,” then the claws might come out. After being friends for over 5 years, we started dating for another 3 before eventually getting engaged. We got married a year later with a myriad of family and friends present. ten years later, we consider each other best friends and can handle anything life throws at us as we work together to tackle our life goals.

Nos conocimos en línea a través de un foro escolar mientras ambos estábamos en la universidad. Lo que comenzó como ayudarnos con clases se convirtió en una amistad a largo plazo. Esa amistad eventualmente se transformó en una relación amorosa. Desde el principio siempre hemos estado en la misma sintonía, al menos en las decisiones importantes de la vida. Un año después nos casamos rodeados de muchos familiares y amigos. Diez años después, nos consideramos mejores amigos y podemos enfrentar cualquier cosa que la vida nos presente, trabajando juntos para alcanzar nuestras metas

Lacey grew up in a family with three siblings. She has an older brother, an older sister and a younger sister. Between her siblings we have three nephews and potentially a nice as her sister is in the process of adopting a little girl that they are fostering. Lacey is my best friend. She has a strong personality, but is easy going and adventurous. She is always up for trying new things. That’s what I believe she would instill as a parent, to be courageous and open to new ideas. I’ve seen her work with kids in her job as a preschool teacher and interact with our nieces and nephews. She lights up when she’s around kids, as if she’s meant to be a parent. I think she would be a role model to our future child and instill values, while being fun-loving and engaging in their interests.

Lacey creció en una familia con tres hermanos: un hermano mayor, una hermana mayor y una hermana menor. Creo que eso mismo inculcaría como madre: ser valiente y estar abierta a nuevas ideas. La he visto trabajar con niños en su trabajo como maestra de preescolar y también con nuestros sobrinos y sobrinas. Se ilumina cuando está rodeada de niños, como si hubiera nacido para ser madre. Estoy convencido de que sería un gran ejemplo para nuestro futuro hijo, enseñándole valores mientras disfruta y comparte sus intereses.

Mike comes from an Italian family and has two older brothers and a younger sister who all see each other regularly. Between Mike's siblings we have two nieces and two nephews. Mike has always been supportive of me no matter what decision I make in life. He’s been by my side for the ups and downs with compassion and without judgment. One of the things that drew me towards him at first was that I felt like I could go to him about anything. I’ve seen the same sense of empathy with co-workers as he’s the kind of person that everyone goes to for answers without the fear of being looked down on. I believe he would provide that same kind of support as a parent. I remember when our nephew stayed with us for a few days as a toddler and how he was drawn to Mike. It was one of the first times he was without his parents, and one night he went to lie down with Mike in front of the TV as he would his own father.

Where We Live

We live in a 4 bedroom, 2 story home in a quiet and friendly neighborhood in Central Florida. There’s plenty of space for a child to grow up in. The community we live in is very diverse with people of all backgrounds. There are many families with children you see playing in their yards with each other and riding their bikes around the neighborhood. We have a community pool, playground, and walking trails that go through neighboring communities. The K-12 schools in the area are all A rated schools and are all within a few miles. The elementary school is a two-way dual language school where children can learn to read and write in two languages. Our community is centered around multiple theme parks and other family-friendly activities for entertainment.

Vivimos en una casa de 4 habitaciones y 2 pisos, en un vecindario tranquilo y amigable en Florida Central. Hay mucho espacio para que un niño crezca. Nuestra comunidad es muy diversa, con personas de diferentes orígenes. Hay muchas familias con niños que juegan juntos en sus patios y andan en bicicleta por el vecindario. Contamos con una piscina comunitaria, un parque infantil y senderos que conectan con otras comunidades vecinas. Las escuelas (desde preescolar hasta secundaria) de la zona están calificadas con A y todas se encuentran a pocos kilómetros. La escuela primaria es un programa de doble idioma, donde los niños aprenden a leer y escribir en dos lenguas. Además, nuestra comunidad está rodeada de parques temáticos y muchas actividades familiares para disfrutar.
