Our Story

A brief background on us—we are blessed with five children. Two are in college and on their own. Our "oldest" at home is in high school, our son is in middle school, and our youngest, Adelynn, is three. She was the best surprise and has brought our family together in so many ways. Adelynn is a lot of fun, and we would love to add one more to grow up alongside her. It's been so rewarding to see our teens and older kids experience being an older sibling and helping her learn and grow.

Hobbies and Interests

A few times a year, we love to get away and go somewhere warm as a family. Our favorite spot right now is Florida. We love a relaxing day at the beach, seeing a few sights, long bike rides, and just spending time together. As a family, our hobbies include supporting each of the kids in their sports or other activities.
Shelli's hobbies: My favorite hobbies include working out and cooking. I love to be outdoors. Whether we're walking or biking or exploring a new place, being outdoors just makes me so happy. I've recently started wallpapering and updating a few things around our home, which I find so rewarding. It just makes me so proud every time I walk by something that I created.
Joe's hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, fishing, or just being active with my family. I also love reading, especially books that challenge me or help me grow. I’m a fan of good food, grilling, and trying new restaurants. I also like working with my hands and fixing things around the house, sports (both playing and watching), and I have a habit of learning random skills.

Pasatiempos e Intereses
Unas cuantas veces al año nos gusta viajar en familia, especialmente a lugares cálidos. Actualmente, uno de nuestros lugares favoritos es Florida. Nos encanta pasar días relajados en la playa, conocer nuevos lugares, andar en bicicleta y simplemente disfrutar del tiempo juntos.

What first attracted me to my wife was her fun, radiant personality. She is compassionate, patient, and has a steady presence that makes people feel understood and valued. Shelli’s personality is warm, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in purpose. She is unique in the way she loves others—gently and consistently. She shows her love through service, attentiveness, encouragement, and the way she gives her full heart to the people around her. Her family is her career and purpose in life, and she loves being surrounded by those she loves. She brings direction, warmth, and a sense of God’s steadiness into our home. Watching her raise our children is one of the clearest pictures of unconditional love I know. Shelli is capable of having deeply personal relationships with each child. She talks with our adult children daily and knows what’s going on in each of their lives. She is supportive of each child’s interests and helps them to be successful in whatever they undertake. She also likes to keep it light and fun and laughs often with the kids.

At the top of the list of things I admire about Joe is his drive and dedication to our family. I was first attracted to him because he is so handsome and athletic and has the best sense of humor, balanced with a hardworking, serious side. Through the years, I see that he knows how to problem-solve and work in a way that is unmatched. God has given him the ability to create, both in his business and in our family. He lives with vision: setting goals and achieving them (he just made a list of places our family wants to travel to in the next few years).
He is the best father! He loves each child unconditionally while being able to parent them individually. He is gifted in knowing what works for each child— how they respond to discipline, what their strengths are, teaching them how to work, and showing them what living with purpose looks like.

Our Children

Our oldest son, Denton, attends college out of state. He recently served a mission through our church in Eastern Europe and is enjoying college life.
Myah is also attending college at the same university. Myah is learning to balance working parttime and attending school fulltime.
Savannah is the oldest at home and has really grown into this role. She attends high school where she takes honors classes, plays tennis, and runs track.
Deacon enjoys spending time with his friends in middle school. He is both hilarious and hard-working. Deacon plays the piano and participates in swim team and wrestling.
Adelynn loves making her siblings laugh. She enjoys swimming lessons and spending time with her little friends at the park and her cousin, who lives nearby.

Nuestros Hijos

Our Home

We have a traditional style, open two-story home with six bedrooms and four and a half baths. It was built in the 90s, and we are enjoying making it our own and updating a few things. Our favorite part of our home is the family room/kitchen area! This is where we usually all hang out, and Shelli loves being in the kitchen, preparing food while everyone is around and helping. The backyard is a close second favorite—the pool and large grassy area are the best places for us to gather during the hot summers. Every Saturday, we have big breakfasts and weeknight taco nights. Our home is tidy yet warm and comfortable. Having our family spend time together is what makes our house home. We live close to a park with a great spot for little kids, so we walk there most days and let our little one run around while the older kids bike.

Family Traditions

Our favorite family activities include attending the kids' various sports or activities and supporting them. Truly, nothing is more fun or rewarding than watching your child work and progress is something they enjoy! A typical evening at home looks like everyone gathering at home after school and work, food being prepared in the kitchen, everyone munching as we cook together, and everyone talking about their day. We all pitch in to tidy up after dinner and hang out in the family room or the basement to watch a show and chat. We truly enjoy being together as a family.
We love a big breakfast on the weekends since we're not rushed for time with school. Weekends are the time when we spend a few hours working on a project, either for Joe's business or something around the house. Everyone helps, and we all entertain the little one. On Sundays, we attend church together and have a big family dinner with Grandma, Grandpa, and extended family.

The faith you're extending is probably one of the most selfless acts possible. We want you to know how much we admire your strength and faith in this adoption process. An unplanned pregnancy is difficult, and we imagine you might feel lonely in this process. We want you to know that we see you as a lovely woman, a child of God, and consider you a valuable family member. Considering placing your child with another family for their benefit is beautiful and probably the hardest thing you've ever done. We would love to stay in touch and give you updates through the years so you can feel peace knowing your child is well taken care of and living the life we have promised. We want to assure you that if you choose us, we will love this child as our own and give them every opportunity available to them.
