Our Story

We met through a dating website on Valentine's Day of 2020 right as the world was going into quarantine. We talked back and forth for months until it was safe to travel and see each other in person. We began dating and were married in May of 2021. After living in Kentucky (far from any family) and experiencing difficulties with a family member's health, we decided to move closer to Bree's side. We moved and bought our forever home in 2023 and now live 7 minutes from Bree's parents. We are approaching our 5th year of marriage and can honestly say, our relationship has gotten sweeter and better with each year. In that time we have welcomed a puppy into our family (Kimber), moved across the country, Bree got her master's degree, we bought our forever home and Jonathon has started his doctorate. We feel like God has provided us a wonderful foundation to start a family and cannot wait to welcome a little one into our hearts and live!

Nuestra Historia
Nos conocimos a través de una página web de citas el Día de San Valentín de 2020, justo cuando el mundo comenzaba a entrar en cuarentena. Hablamos durante varios meses hasta que fue seguro viajar y vernos en persona. Comenzamos a salir y nos casamos en mayo de 2021.
Después de vivir en Kentucky (lejos de cualquier familiar) y experimentar dificultades con la salud de un miembro de la familia, decidimos mudarnos más cerca de la familia de Bree. Nos mudamos y compramos nuestra casa para siempre en 2023 y ahora vivimos a solo 7 minutos de los padres de Bree.
Estamos acercándonos a nuestro quinto aniversario de matrimonio y honestamente podemos decir que nuestra relación se ha vuelto más dulce y mejor con cada año. Durante este tiempo hemos dado la bienvenida a un cachorro a nuestra familia (Kimber), nos mudamos al otro lado del país, Bree obtuvo su maestría, compramos nuestra casa definitiva y Jonathon comenzó su doctorado.
Sentimos que Dios nos ha dado una base maravillosa para comenzar una familia y no podemos esperar para recibir a un pequeño en nuestros corazones y en nuestras vidas.

My wife is amazing. She truly has a heart for helping others and is a stranger to no one. She doesn’t do anything halfway, but gives her all, no matter the situation. I love doing life with her, from going to church, to playing board games, doing DIY watercolors for all of our Christmas cards. Bree is great with children and I know that she is going to be a fantastic mom. She does so well with kids at church as she is a small group leader, game director and works with lots of kids at work every day. She is a mental health therapist and is passionate about working with kids and teenagers. She is so good at making people feel cared for and valued. Bree loves her job but her dream is to be a mom and she will be dropping to part time once we bring baby into our home.

I was first attracted to Jonathon's willingness and excitement about learning new things and growing as a person. He is amazing at seeing people’s talents and individual gifts and can bring out the best in others. He is compassionate, sensitive, smart, and honestly so much fun to be around. He is amazing with children and is determined to be the best dad that he can be. He is going to be the kind of dad who wants to do all the family activities and traditions and will take a million pictures along the way.
Jonathon works as an enrollment counselor at a university and loves helping people find their passion. He is also currently working on his doctorate in educational leadership. He doesn't work with kids at his job but makes up for this at church where he teaches 1st and 2nd graders Sunday school, leads a boys group on Wednesdays and on any given Sunday you will find our church pew filled with children that are not ours as they all ask to sit with Mr. Jonathon and Mrs. Bree. We cannot wait to add one that is ours!

We live in a ranch-style home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms along with plans for a bathroom downstairs. We have a large living room that we love, as this is the heart of our home and where we spend a lot of our time. Bree is a big houseplant person and has filled the house with lots and lots of plants. We also have a very large finished basement that will be a playroom once we have children. Our kitchen is another fun area where we do lots of cooking and crafts like painting. Our property is just shy of an acre with lots of woods surrounding a big backyard. We are working on creating a walking path in our woods that will go all around the house. We are right in the middle of a neighborhood with people constantly walking their dogs and lots of kids running around. We love that our town is not too big and not too small, as we have lots of things to do, but it still has a small-town feel. We have a university right in town, which provides a lot of diversity and opportunity.

Hogar Dulce Hogar
Vivimos en una casa estilo “ranch” con cuatro habitaciones y dos baños, con planes de añadir otro baño en el sótano. Tenemos una sala grande que amamos, ya que es el corazón de nuestro hogar y donde pasamos gran parte de nuestro tiempo.
A Bree le encantan las plantas de interior y ha llenado la casa con muchas plantas. También tenemos un sótano muy grande y terminado que será un cuarto de juegos cuando tengamos niños.
La cocina es otro espacio divertido donde cocinamos mucho y hacemos manualidades como pintar. Nuestra propiedad tiene casi un acre y está rodeada de árboles alrededor de un gran patio trasero.
Estamos trabajando en crear un sendero para caminar dentro de nuestro pequeño bosque que rodeará la casa. Vivimos en medio de un vecindario donde siempre hay personas paseando a sus perros y muchos niños jugando.
Nos encanta que nuestro pueblo no sea ni demasiado grande ni demasiado pequeño: hay muchas cosas que hacer, pero aún conserva un ambiente de comunidad pequeña. También tenemos una universidad en la ciudad, lo que aporta diversidad y oportunidades.
Our Pet

We have a sweet, fluffy dog named Kimber Grace. She is a Keeshond and about 50lbs but half of it is fluff. She is very well-behaved and trained and knows sit, lay down and look adorable (that last one came naturally). She is a couch potato but is spoiled with lots of toys that she periodically scatters across the living room floor. Kimber is fantastic with kids and is very tolerant and gentle, even when they get rough and try to pull on her hair. She loves to play with kids as well and especially likes it when they chase her around the living room and yard.

Nuestra Mascota
Tenemos una dulce y esponjosa perrita llamada Kimber Grace. Es una Keeshond y pesa alrededor de 50 libras, aunque la mitad es puro pelo.
Está muy bien entrenada y sabe sentarse, acostarse y verse adorable (esa última habilidad le salió naturalmente). Es un poco perezosa y le encanta el sofá, pero tiene muchos juguetes que a veces esparce por la sala.
Kimber es fantástica con los niños. Es muy paciente y amable incluso cuando los niños se emocionan demasiado y tiran de su pelo. También le encanta jugar con ellos, especialmente cuando la persiguen por la sala o el patio.

Since we first started the paperwork for adoption, we began praying for you. We pray that God keeps you safe; that He would guide your heart to make the choice that is best for you and your baby; and that you would feel peace about your decision. We want your child to have a relationship with you and are open to an ongoing connection if that is what you want.
